The Story Behind YogaRevolution

How YogaRevolution began in Medicine Hat: a fire we felt inside, a quiet voice saying there is more for me than this, and the 30/60 Day Challenge.

The YogaRevolution sign on the brick building front

YogaRevolution was never meant to be to just a yoga studio. It was born from something deeper. A fire we felt inside, a knowing that life could be more than just going through the motions. We’ve all had those moments where you stop and realize: something has to change. The weight of stress, the heaviness of routine, the nagging sense that you’re not fully alive. It can feel like it’s pulling you under. And yet, there’s always that small, steady voice inside whispering: there’s more for me than this.

We listened to that voice. We let it guide us. And out of it, YogaRevolution was created. A space where people come not just to sweat or stretch, but to transform. A place where breath, grit, and community fuse together to ignite real change.

That’s also why we built the YR 30/60 Day Yoga Challenge. Because transformation doesn't come from a single breakthrough, it comes from showing up, again and again. It’s the discipline of choosing yourself, even on the days you don’t feel like it. It’s proving to yourself that you are stronger than the story that once held you back.

“It’s proving to yourself that you are stronger than the story that once held you back.”

This October, as we begin this challenge, know that you’re not doing it alone. We’re in this with you. Cheering you on, sweating beside you, and holding space for the powerful shift that happens when you commit to your own growth.

This is why YogaRevolution exists. This is where change begins. And this is where transformation thrives.

Fun Fact - The YR are Vanessa Yamazaki and Mike Reid’s last initials, and yes, this was intentional and how we came up with the YogaRevolution brand.

With Love,

Vanessa and Mike
